On 22nd of November 1987 I finally managed to enter this friendly world alive after getting chocked by the umbilical cord for a few hours. I was named Shahab, which means Shooting star in Persian.
I was born and bred in Iran but all off a sudden landed in the streets of the United Kingdom. As a toddler I was always the quiet one, breaking all my toys and trying to combine them together to invent a new product. I also had a great passion for art, mainly because it was in my blood and all my uncles were artists.
In my mind I always thought I was going to be an important character to this world, but soon found my self living amongst ordinary people in the Glasgow schemes where no one really cared about who I was. While attending school I got the nick name “Shah” just to make life easier for people on a mission to pronounce my name.
Commercial Hip Hop was all I’d heard on the radio but slowly got into conscious Hip Hop and found a passion for it. The fact that I was witnessing all these people conveying their feelings on records so easy, influenced me to write lyrics and soon I formed a band called “4Dimensions” along with 3 of my mates from school. We started writing music and putting tracks together in my bedroom for a demo CD while networking everywhere we could to try and find connections, gigs etc...
We did our first gig in the Street Level Art gallery in 2005 which was the first time I felt like an important character in the scene and felt a sense of accomplishment in something I had a passion for. Since then I’ve done shows all over the country and also received an educational award at BECTA 06, for Creativity in Digital Media.
I always wanted to improve and be more professional so I went to college and got an HND in Sound Production and I'm currently at Caledonian University studying in my 3rd year of the “BSc Audio Technology with Multimedia” programme.
My passion for music grows everyday and I’m trying to get involved in producing, songwriting and projects such as Urban Opera to challenge myself and learn new things so that maybe I could fulfill my childhood dreams one day and become someone really important in the scene!
