Track 1: Goin Down
Track 2: Don't want you to fuck up your life

Flying the flag for Dundee hip-hop, Elligitimate reps to tha fullest, voicing his anger against capitalism and the exploitation that it brings. Boasting a solid, emotional flow, and straight-up head-bussin' beats, 'giti uses his music as a vehicle to express and highlight the nation's great discontent with the ever-increasing poverty-stricken social climate that is so prevalent throughout the country. "Fuck the popo, fuck the queen and fuck the monarchy!" are more than rap cliches but are at the forefront of elligit-man's philosphies, his dark rap noir tells socialist tales of frustration and disappointment, whilst retaining a sense of hope for better times ahead. So fuck all that materialist hip-hop, all style and no content and peep this real shit! Elligitimate is also one half of the Electrolites (d.b.), and a founding member of Gellyphilms, an independant film company, and is involved in the running of many creative youth movements throughout the local area.

“I have no time all that materialist hip-hop, all style and no content, but at the same time if you want your message to be heard, you have keep your preaching to a minimum, keep it in bite-size chunks, and dress it up so that is accessible to all. Then even your casual listener is gonna pick up on that hardcore political vibe that they would usually choose to ignore."

"For me, music is the one of the most direct and powerful mediums to use, it allows me to share my political opinions, without boring people to tears. I hear a lot of music that annoys me, either cause it is shallow and worthless, too concerned with style and how it sounds, less concerned with actually saying anything and on the flip-side it can be so full of info and/or opinion on this and that but it sounds like shit. My music is balanced, it sounds good and it has social importance. My music is the truth, many peeps have a problem with my delivery, but as of yet, no-one has a problem with my content, cause it’s solid.”

Elligitimate is currently reading his debut album, ‘Assassination Day’, featuring 14 tracks, all written and produced by himself. The album has been mixed and mastered by Dave Paterson from CaVa Studios, who produced Isobel Campbell’s Mercury nominated album. He is also working on new material for a follow-up album as well as making socially conscious movies with his independent film company – Gellyphilms.
