Fife Hip-Hop Duo, D-Team, release their first ever EP titled 'Best Yet to Come' as a free download from their site.
This six track EP form these 19 year olds showcase the talent they obviously have all be it a little rough around the edges. Apparently they started doing this for fun but prove they could go on to great things.
The EP kicks off with, 'Best Yet to Come', which has them spitting lyrics about how they started out over a solid beat and spanish guitar. The beats are nicely produced and the lyrics strong.
Throughout the EP you notice that they use a lot of unconventional sounds like spanish guitars, accordions and even classical music which, for the most case, works well. 'I Know', the fourth track, for me would work better if it was not for the 'East 17' type singing throughout.
My favorite track from the whole EP is the fifth 'Orchastred Brilliance'. As the title suggests this is a hip-hop beat including classical music that is fun and works surprisingly well. D-Team do not seem to be scared of experimenting with different musical styles and they manage to pull it off with this track.
On the whole this is a good first release that includes solid beats and rhymes with a few hiccups along the way.
As they say,"We're only 19, best yet to come".
